Stafford College wins Climate Change award.

David Kidney is delighted to hear that  Stafford College has won the OC3 Climate Change Champion Award sponsored by Our County, Our Climate, Our Choice.

This award has been given because:

‘The organisation that has done the most to raise awareness of climate change and how customers, staff, pupils, members or local people can do their bit to reduce their carbon footprint.’

The college has also been praised because:

‘After winning the Youth and Education Green Award last year Stafford College has gone even further to push the green message.  It has concentrated on involving the students more in campaigns and events. After the student body identified environmental issues second only to finance in importance the College hosted a sustainable development week. Green transport is being tackled with a new green travel plan and sustainable development is being integrated more strongly into courses.’

David Kidney, The Minister for Energy & Climate Change says "I congratulate Stafford College on winning this prestigious award and more importantly, for doing the serious work on sustainability to merit it"
