Stafford Cares
A community response to our ageing society
At Church Lane Church Hall, Stafford Saturday 27th March 10-3.00
How can we help to keep people well, happy and independent into their 80s and 90s?
|
The idea for the day at Church Lane comes from contacts between:
David Kidney MP, Churches Together, Stafford Hospital, the faculty of ageing at Staffordshire University, and many of the voluntary groups that are carrying out work with the elderly.
|
- Lots of organisations will have stalls to show how they are helping.
- If you think you should have a stall please ask if there is space.
- The general public are invited to find out what support is available. And what opportunities there are for offering voluntary help.
|
10.00- 12.00 Stalls networking tea and coffee. Opportunities to drop in and talk to many of the different organisations that provide opportunities for volunteers.
12.00 Talks ( still to be finalised) are likely to include:
Professor Kingston faculty of ageing Staffordshire University explaining the demographics
Anthony Sumara – looking at the impact of an ageing population on the work of the Hospital
David Kidney MP – looking at the proposals for social care.

This will be followed by workshops to help us all identify ways forward.
