David Kidney welcomes the Food Standards Agency (FSA)  saturated fat campaign

David Kidney welcomes the current campaign to get across the facts about Saturated fats.

The campaign aims to cut the % of saturated fats we eat from 13.3% to 11% of food energy.

The current high levels of saturated fat consumption contribute to CVD which causes around 30% of premature deaths in men and 22% of premature deaths in women. 

The campaign is being supported by a number of retailers manufacturers and caterers  who are working to promote healthier options.   

The campaign is also being supported by  British Heart Foundation, Diabetes UK, Heart UK, National Federation of Women’s Institutes and www.netmums.com to ensure that those most at risk from CVD are engaged in the campaign.
