The Government Department in which Stafford’s MP David Kidney is now a Minister has published its plans for action on climate change at the international conference in Copenhagen later this year.
Stafford’s MP says we all need to take action – from each individual household to every nation in the world:
“An international agreement to tackle climate change will affect us all. It will mean new jobs and businesses in low carbon industries, more secure and environmentally-friendly energy supplies and a cleaner, healthier environment.
“But it requires an enormous effort by every citizen and every government to secure an agreement and then to translate its terms into action. Our government wants to involve everyone in our preparations for the talks in Copenhagen at the end of this year and in taking the action that is necessary to tackle climate change now.
“This is why the Government has published “The Road to Copenhagen: Taking International Action on Climate Change”. It is a pamphlet providing practical advice for people on the actions they can take in their own lives to reduce their own carbon footprint. It contains information on our plans for international action, too.
