David Kidney says this new service represents a great step forward in support for carers:
David has worked closely with many carers organisations over the years and all people who have experienced this situation will say how isolating the experience and be and stress how important it is to get good access to information
“This is a really valuable new source of advice and support for carers. We have some great support groups locally, like Carers Association South Staffordshire (CASS) but here is literally advice at your fingertips.
“Carers can access information about caring for someone, financial and legal advice, how to find local support groups and services and there is advice specifically for young carers. Carers Direct is a practical and comprehensive information, advice and support service for all carers.”
The service can also be contacted by e-mail: carersdirect@nhschoices.nhs.uk And by post – PO Box 4338, Manchester M61 0BY.
