Floodline Warnings Direct.
In recent years we have all become aware of the serious risk that flooding can present to some properties in the Stafford Area.
There has been a tremendous amount of preventative work carried out, to improve the quality of drainage, but because there are large areas of Stafford that are low lying, and because of the unpredictable nature of the weather events we are now starting to experience, we can anticipate that there remains a threat.
Because of this the major priority has to be to ensure that there are provisions in place to keep people safe.
The Environment Agency have contacted me to let me know that they are bringing in a Direct Warnings Service. They will be mailing information to people about this from 1st March.
The letters will give people the option of either signing up for the flood warnings service or opting out. It will also give people some guidance on how they might prepare for a flood, and answers some frequently asked questions.
